Encourage Creativity with this Birthday Gift for a Five Year Old
Hoping Max Will Like It!!
Birthday Gift for a Five Year Old!
This gift is educational and FUN!
It’s not easy to come up with ideas for a birthday gift for a five year old boy. They are so into on-line games and Legos. It’s hard to come up with something different that they will actually like and will keep them entertained for a while.
And, I like giving gifts that are fun but educational. It’s better if they are both, right?
So, in line with my crafty nature and while roaming the Walmart aisles, I came up with the idea of giving him a box full of glitter, cardstock and coloring pencils and other art supplies…a craft bin to encourage creative play.
Rather than buying an art gift, I thought I would put one together. And, with my Silhouette Cameo, I could customize the bin just for him, making it a bit more special.
I chose a clear, plastic bin since it would be fairly indestructible. The bin I found measures 16 ” L x 11 ” W x 6 3/4″ H so it was big enough to hold cardboard paper and other items. And, the built-in latches were easy to open and close. And, the price was right.
Plus, it had a perfect spot on the lid to place his name in vinyl. I love my Silhouette Cameo and I am always looking for ways to use it to personalize.
And, Walmart has so many art supplies to choose from. It was fun choosing goodies to include in his craft box. There were so many great options…glitter markers, stamps, finger paints and much more.
Once it was all pulled together, I thought it turned out pretty great!
What I liked best about this gift is that it encourages creativity. And, who knows, maybe one day, little Max will start his own craft blog.
